Shamanic Shapeshifter in Healing, Coaching and Life

As Shamanic people (even if you present as an energy healer or coach this might be you), we sometimes forget that we are the Shamanic Shapeshifter and that we will show up in a completely new and different way for people. We can sometimes find ourselves getting stuck in a certain way of being and not allow the pure inspired energy to move through us allowing ourselves to be the Shamanic shapeshifter.  This can be because we are in our ego or our comfort zone, thinking that we will show up in a certain way all of the time.  For me, this might be as the warrior or sage and it might throw me off when the innocent or the nurturing mother comes through.  These Archetypes are frequencies that often need to be expressed in sessions, given voice to because they are familiar to everyone and help people gain access to parts of themselves they have not yet explored or healed.  People will need to receive from specific energies and Archetypes in order to understand that medicine.

Shutting down new energies or Archetypes can greatly reduce our effectiveness.  It might look like being so invested in a particular being or animal spirit to be present that we forget to hold space for what most needs to arrive. For some, it is relying too heavily on galactic frequency when someone really needs an Earth-based energy, for others it is not allowing the soothing nurturing flow of water to come through, which might be simply being present with someone for a time with little happening instead of pushing fire through the system to burn away what is not serving.  If you pull this out of the Shamanic shapeshifter realm and into the realm of coaching and energy healing you might see that this could mean relying on a particular methodology or way of being in session when authentic moment to moment expression, following the gut feeling or allowing words you have never spoken before to come through you is what is most needed for this person’s healing or transformation.

Jaguar Medicine Vs. Horse Medicine

For some people, you will bring the jaguar. But, for others, they will simply be unable to receive and relate to that frequency. You must become the horse or the doe. You must walk calmly and lightly into their field in order for them to relax and receive the medicine.

The Edge Walkers Need Shamanic Shapeshifters

For many that I describe as those that “serve the edge walkers”, this is even more important to remember. The edge walkers are those that are on the edge of awakening.  They actually might not make significant personal, spiritual evolution in this lifetime.  They are the vulnerable ones still operating in the old paradigm, in smallness, addictions, and discomfort.  They are feeling a press forward, but they really have little idea what they are potentially opening to.  They could go either way.  Many of the people I support and serve are designed to help these edge walkers.  This is such a vital and important role as we want to assist as many as possible to become self-actualized and closer to freedom and their true spiritual nature.  We are tipping the scales and every person counts. Being overly spiritual and above the heads of these people does not serve them.  It can shut them down. Utilizing too strong of an energetic current can shift things a little too quickly causing a push back and a shut down of their system. When we get used to presenting in a certain way and a new client or situation comes into our field, we might reject the frequency that is being called for us to express at that time.

This path is one of constant exploration, radical presence and sometimes discomfort.  It often has a little voice in the head which is asking, “What the heck are you doing now?”.  This is natural and that voice needs to be reminded.. no, we are safe, this is right.  No problem here.  I know this isn’t how it perhaps usually looks or feels and that is ok. This is why it is vital to get really comfortable with this for yourself in as many ways as possible, exploring your own practice, guides and energetics, getting used to the new as well as building solid foundational relationships with the familiar.

Remind yourself, “I am the Shamanic Shapeshifter and I allow what is needed to move through me.”

Because when you move from doing this for yourself to doing it for others you will be surprised, and the doubt this can bring up can shut down the flow that is needed at that moment.  It only takes a breaths worth of doubt to spiral something away.  These energetics can be elusive and the instructions that we are getting are subtle and momentarily inspired. These are the arts of regulation, exploration, and presence that the Shamanic healer must master in order to be of the highest service in every moment. Be the shapeshifter and remember that while your guides and access points will remain, there will be newness and the need to flow for the ones that you serve.

“You’re Not the Boss of Me!” How to Trust Your Own Instincts on Your Spiritual Path

Awakening and healing are a lot like having a baby.  Everyone wants to tell you exactly how to do it, yet you really have to listen to yourself, take what others say with some skepticism and spaciousness and allow the emerging being within you do its thing, have its experience and guide you.  It might be fast, slow, painful, orgasmic or somehow all of the above and definitely messy, but it is yours.  A helping hand, a few guiding words of encouragement, some valuable techniques can be extremely helpful.  Occasionally you will need a radical intervention.  Sometimes those interventions are too soon, unnecessary or poorly executed.

There is no one way to do this.  To awaken, to heal is a path all your own.  It often requires more patience, love compassion and space than we have ever given to anything before.

Do not let others dictate your path of awakening and healing.

Many times I have had teachers and mentors who so enthusiastically evangelized their method, process or system above all others as the right, best, fastest way to heal or grow that I have seen myself in my desire to be the best (I know, so much ego), to get it right, to master it, show up, commit, fully understand the methodology, the tradition or system to my eventual detriment.

Parts of the teachings and concepts have been valuable tools or information, yet in my persistent passionate participation, I have often found myself in pain, exhaustion, injury, disillusionment, and suffering.  Occasionally veering wildly off course or finding myself heavily invested in something that I really just want to get out of at all costs.

I know a lot of this speaks to one of my life lessons not to push so hard, slow down, trust and listen to myself and my guides and stand for myself no matter what.  This also requires me to confront my shadow of wanting to be seen and appreciated in my proficiency and study.

I have always liked to experience things fully.  I have operated full force under the banner of ‘go hard or go home’, I suppose drawing for my fairly hardcore Texas upbringing in a highly competitive sports home.  I have always pushed myself to my limits and often overdone life to my detriment.  In my 20’s this looked like putting myself in danger with drugs, alcohol, and sex while working so hard as an actor, taking on roles in which my physical body was risked doing stunts and fight scenes and doing ‘research’ which actually put my life in danger.  Some of these jobs left me with lifelong injuries and pain.

Once I started on my own path of healing and awakening, it often meant overdoing it in other’s modalities and practices, pushing my spiritual and physical limits in other ways.  It is not that I didn’t get a lot out of these experiences and teachings, but in some cases, I simply exhausted my body and created energetic deviations in my system in pursuit of mastery at other’s teachings.

In one workshop weekend learning a meditation and mantra practice, I met a woman who was exhibiting the most profound channeling I had ever witnessed.  This was early on for me and it was so touching and exciting to see someone so elegantly express what was still so chaotically expressing through me.  She gave me some of the best advice that I have, at times, forgotten:

“Sure, take classes and learn from others, but do not let them train out of you what you already are.”

The longer I guide the less I desire to speak in absolutes, to create the conditions in which someone does not feel the freedom to be completely authentic and personally led and instead relying on others to know themselves and their own healing gifts.

I find myself feeling often more angered by the psychics, astrologers, and other seers and readers who tell people things they then hold onto so tightly that they can see no other way of being, who present information in a way that does not empower or leave room for personal exploration and growth.

I ask myself the question of how do I teach specific practices and systems and channel through messages while doing so in a way that actually encourages people to tap into their own inner knowing, guidance, and awareness. Because I know things, I bring things through and I am fucking certain about a lot of things (in the most humble way possible of course).

I also find myself desiring and actually allowing myself to have the simple pleasures that make life worth living instead of pushing myself to the limit to prove to others that their system, technique or lineage really works.

I just don’t have the time or the energy to do that shit anymore.  I will still study hard, give of myself and push myself toward growth, but I also hope to bathe myself in a deeper spring of compassion, ease and simplicity than ever before, to allow my unfolding and the unfolding of those I support to happen with a level of grace, radical self-preserving presence and inner guidance that I see is so often missing in many paths.

As healers and lightworkers, I believe we have a responsibility to share what we know, to develop and study systems that work and support people.  This has been my focus and commitment for many years.  Yet, I also see that these structures and systems must have room to breathe and grow for each one utilizing them.  The people that I work with have their own special skills, frequencies and lifetimes of training and personal development that simply needs to be activated and allowed to emerge.

In the end, I believe what we do with our lives should feel good.  It should feel supportive, nurturing and dare I say… kind.  There might be uncomfortable times of training, deep dives into the shadow, the very real experience of dealing with our sabotaging nature in relation to discipline and devotion, but the overall path that I want to choose is one of expansive presence to my own self and my own expression of magic.  This is what I am devoted to bringing out in others.

9 ways that you can follow your instincts on your spiritual path

  1. Listen to your body.  Not all bodies are meant to do the same things at the same rate of development.  I have met people who have blown out knees from a Yoga teacher standing on their legs and so many with other pulled muscles, torn tendons and injured joints from being pushed too far too fast or made to hold physical postures for extended periods of time.
  2. Feel into your past and your energy.  Especially in terms of adrenal fatigue.  It is real and those that come from high stress or trauma can be showing up with seriously depleted systems that need more rest and nurturing than some teachers suggest.  Rest is vital for this path.
  3. Drop the comparison game.  So many of us are in comparison and competition in everything that we do.  It is how we were taught to be as children.  Especially when we compare ourselves to those that have been on the path for a long time we risk hurting ourselves in some way.
  4. Trust your gut.  If something feels wrong, stop.  If you have come from an abusive past, acknowledge that you gut instinct might not always show up for you, in which case, even more self-inquiry and space might be needed for you to feel what is right for you.
  5. Be willing to ask questions and speak up for yourself.  If you are studying with someone that does not allow this, or puts you down, shames you or does this to others this is a huge red flag.
  6. Be willing to be alone.  The best way to get a good feel on if something is right is sometimes to take some space from it.  Be willing to slow down, be alone and listen deeply for your own internal guidance.
  7. If someone is claiming to have the only way, the only path step back… there are many ways to the top of the mountain.
  8. Remember that you are a sovereign being.  You hold the keys to your path.  Your teachers, guides and mentors should be ones who open handedly allow for that.
  9. You got this.  You are whole.  You are capable.  You are a gift to the world.  Shine your unique light and you will allow others to shine theirs.  In this, we all heal.

9 Ways To Not Feel Like a Fraud

We see all of the beauty and success on Instagram and Facebook and we assume that everyone always has their shit together and is just killing it. In this work (i.e. coaching, healing, channeling, facilitating), you will, again and again, hit up against various ways to feel like a fraud and a fake. And in the world of healing and coaching: shit goes wrong. We over-invest, clients drop out of programs, things fail, we get sick, we need to continually keep adding more clients to our programs and private sessions, etc., etc.

What Makes us Feel Like a ‘Fraud’?

Just before and after big pushes and expansions (big retreats, larger programs, charging more, doing something new), we often rubberband back into a familiar form of despair and the feeling that we might not do so good again, or people didn’t really get that much from it, or we aren’t really qualified or good enough to do this new thing.

Strangers criticize us on the internet when we put out our most heartfelt posts and blogs. There are so many ways that we can fall, once again, into this place of “not good enough, I’m a fraud, I’m a failure.” It is these moments when we think we could just quit it all and go to work in a cat cafe pouring lattes for kittens.

Yes. This is actually ‘a thing.’

So how do we avoid giving up?

Every Healer Needs to Know These 9 Simple Truths:

1. You have to have that one person.  One person that you can call and who will listen to you cry and not judge you because you are supposed to have all of your shit together.  Someone who will remind you of who you are, your talent, your mission, and your heart. They see you and know you and are able to do for you what you are often doing for others.

2.  Know that everyone goes through this. You aren’t alone. Everyone fails. Everyone has a hard time with money. Often those who seem so put together from the outside are in just as much of a struggle as anyone else. Healers and others focused on service, are often burdened with financial struggles -sometimes even more than other entrepreneurs.

3.  Keep in mind that you are actively swimming upstream. You are trying help raise the consciousness of the planet, guide people through healing themselves, expanding their awareness and living more free, joy-filled and heart-centered lives. All in a global structure which does not support these things. Schools, the financial systems, food, work and even relationships are all designed to keep people small, under control and barely getting by to fuel industries of pharmaceuticals, alcohol, porn, and shopping. Even not doing much you are still swimming upstream and that can be exhausting in and of itself.

4.  Honor that you are at the same time working on yourself. You are expanding, growing, healing, learning and mastering yourself. This can be uplifting but can also send us into healing crisis, overwhelm and sudden realizations that big things have got to change – fast. New gifts and abilities are coming online and there is more need for time integrating spiritual practices and experiences.

5.  Realize that you are grounding Spirit to Earth. You are actively asking spiritual concepts and awareness to come through you to Earth and be made manifest in a way that people can understand, purchase, take in and integrate. Sometimes these messages are just known as feeling states that must be translated into human language. Sometimes they are elaborate practices, rituals and modalities that must then be tested, practiced and taken through a process of the best ways to share and teach them to others. This is what it means to truly be a spiritual warrior, to not be only in the upper realms but grounding it back down into the tangible form.

6.  Accept that you are possibly doing something completely new. It’s pretty hard to get a certification in a channeled work that you are bringing through. It is hard to stand up and say with conviction, “This is right” when it hasn’t come from a master teacher, mentor or lineage. You are a change maker and a thought leader who is bringing new energies and ways of doing things to the planet and you have to figure out not only how to bring them, but how to explain why they are important, what people will get for them, and why they should invest. These are probably things people aren’t even aware they are in need of, so add another level of explanation to the masses beyond just doing the work.

7.  Know that you are actively creating.  Creation takes energy.  Not resting and honoring the ebb and flow of creative process can leave you feeling down when things seem to dry up for a spell so that you can go inward, work on yourself, rest or play in the human world.

8.  See yourself as the Alchemist. You are doing Alchemy, which means this is a process of transformation. And, not all phases are comfortable or fun. Sometimes you get stuck, sometimes things take longer than you would like. You are learning the processes as you are going along.  Your teachings and wisdom often come from your own learned experiences, and so it requires going into the underworld of fear, doubt, shame, and failure in order to properly teach or facilitate.

9.  Give yourself a ton of credit for running a business in the midst of all of this stuff! Meaning: bills, taxes, bookkeeping, managing a team, marketing, planning, doing, doing, doing. Often these tasks are not in your zone of genius in order to make a living at the only thing that you could possibly do.

Because, let’s face it, the minute you start thinking about working in the cat cafe, you smile, think, “Yes! That would be amazing!” and then come back to center and admit that you were designed to bring this very specific special medicine and contribution to the planet, so you jump back in and keep on swimming.

You are amazing!  Keep on swimming!

Spiritual Coaches: Why Your Energy is Everything

There are a lot of techniques available for spiritual life coaches and energy workers. From clearing beliefs, working on mindset, inner child work, trauma release and so many more. These are all effective, but the field you hold is often the thing that has the greatest impact and gets the least amount of attention in training programs. This is why opening your channel and shifting your vibration is the most important training you can do as a coach.

Read: What is Open Your Channel

You see, people shift a lot of times based on energetics. They often do not even know why they hire a spiritual life coach.  The reason is that this is an energetic choice based on many factors such as the field they can hold, the container they create and their way of being. Where do you stand, energetically?

How Your Vibration Affects Others

Because of the way the bio-field of the body works, it tunes to the frequency that it’s around.  If you have a high frequency, operating from openness, heart centeredness, authenticity, compassion and love, you will bring these qualities to your work and the people you work with will feel it.  If you are working to increase your vibration, ground your energy, stay clear of other’s shit, cultivate energy and become more aware of your field and energetic capabilities, you will naturally bring these aspects to your work.

Just by being in contact with you, people will start to shift automatically.  They will be able to go into deeper and deeper layers of personal work and access parts of themselves they did not have awareness of before.  They will feel safe and open in ways that they could not otherwise, just from coming in contact with concepts or content.  This is the result of your field.

You can have the best tools and techniques in the world but your frequency and vibration are a huge part of what determines the outcome of your work.

As coaches, you realize you have to work on yourself. You know that doing the work, going into your darkest places, facing your ego and inner demons and clearing your old beliefs is valuable.  Wouldn’t it also make sense to work just as hard to understand the energetic and spiritual aspects of your own system and its effect on your clients, or others?

I see coaches and others who struggle with this all of the time. They take on other’s energy. They don’t understand the function of their own system and they don’t utilize the tools and techniques to keep opening and upgrading the aspects of their being. Doing so will give them more and more access to spiritual information and a higher energetic, which will help their clients exponentially.

Where are you, Energetically?

It’s all energetic. You can’t shift a belief without shifting the energy. You can’t heal the inner child without working with the subtle realms. This is soul level work, tied into energetic and physical systems which all need to open and upgrade in order to see long-lasting change.

Regulating the Channel

As healers and mediums (and even those who do not identify as such), we are responsible for the regulation of our channel.  This seems to be a source of much confusion and time wasted for many of us.

It requires a consciousness toward how we are performing as the channel on a daily basis, an awareness of the communications we keep with our spiritual beings, a steady responsibility to own our own systems and to learn its mastery.

Down Regulation.

Is your channel too open?

Often when people start to awaken and open their channel, whether through intentional practices, meditations or substances or through a spontaneous evolution of the system or re-opening from childhood, the system is overwhelmed by too much information.

As an open channel, we are seen as beacons of light to the spiritual realms.  We are antennas open to the other realms.  Imagine a high power antenna being open to every radio station on the planet.  The noise would be overwhelming and all of the songs and talking heads would become a cacophony of garbled sound.  You might catch a few things here and there, but it is not precise or clear.  This is what it is like for many people as they start to open their channels.  They know they are bringing in information but it is unclear and unreliable.  The system is overwhelmed by spiritual information and the person loses energy and is confused.  At this point, many people simply start to shut down in order to protect themselves, or they fight to remain open and navigate this experience while everything simply feels like too much.

Lack of sleep, brain fog, partial messages and a generalized lack of trust in self and the acquired information is the result.

When I first started opening my channel, I was overwhelmed by beings flying in at any time they liked.  I had no control, nor did I think that I had the right or the ability to have control over this experience.  Confronted with beings of massive size and strange vibration, who have powerful information and experiences to share we can feel small, powerless and as though we are at the whim and mercy of these other beings.

I had to learn that I was a sovereign being and how to say no and create containers for the work.

Spiritual beings do not have the same awareness of our daily needs.  They feel you as an open channel point and want to come through, but they may not consider that you might be busy with things like eating, sleeping, driving your car or other activities in which a channel state is not the most conducive to getting things done on the material plane.

When we start to be really clear with the beings that we are working with, they know when they can come in because we have invited them and given them permission.  This invitation process also helps to ensure that we are working with higher level / frequency beings.

It is important to work on our own sense of individuated sovereign identity as a channel.

I am a sovereign being.

I am a sovereign being.

I am a sovereign being.

Repeating this on a regular basis, tapping the solar plexus to pack energy into the area while breathing and expanding this area, front and back of the body also helps.

Creating a solid container for the work is also vital.  When the beings you are working with know they have a container for coming through, that you are in control of it, they are less likely to just come in at any time.

When wanting to have your channel open, you can add in these phrases:

I connect through my higher self to open my channel to beings of love and light (or a specific being that you are working with).  I call upon and invoke (name of being or energy) or those that serve the highest and best and only those that serve the highest and best for the purpose of….

I am calling on my guides and angels to…

I bring light to my body, heal to heal my physical, emotional, spiritual bodies, or of a particular person by stating their name, or to bring in information and guidance.

Follow your heart with your intention for the work.

I allow you to flow through my body so that I can bring your messages to the planet.

I ask to be an open and pure channel for the messages.

From here you can start to have a conversation with the being, letting the messages flow through you in the way that you receive them.  You might receive images, hear a voice, or a being might talk through you.  Sometimes you will simply have a feeling.  That is enough.  The longer you work with a particular energy the stronger it will get. Do not pre-judge how your channel should work.

When you are closing down, make your intentions clear.

Thank you for coming to do this work with me today.  I am grateful for this encounter and I ask that you make yourself more known to me.  Is there anything else that you can show me or tell me about yourself so that I may call upon you again?

Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you.

The channel is now closed.  I will let you know when I am available next to do the work.

If you find yourself bombarded by beings and energies at different times you can restate your sovereign state, say that you are not open at this time and to come again when I have created the container for this work.

If you are being kept up at night, state this before bed:

I am not available tonight for any communication.  I ask that you help me receive a restful and regenerative night sleep only.

Or you can ask for upgrades:

I am available for upgrades to my energetic system, through my higher self and my guides that serve my highest and best, but I need this to occur within restful sleep.

Again making clear that you are only seeking connection with those that are of the light and those that serve the highest and best.

Sometimes, Shamanic initiations can feel extremely overwhelming and as much as we ask for help it seems not to shift enough to create comfort.  If this is the case, it is important to look into the traumas and emotional holdings that are in the body which are seeking to be dealt with through this process.  The only way out is through in this work and for some an easy time is not the way we have designed our awakening to occur.  Consider asking what the contract is that you instated for your awakening, why it is there and even then make an appeal that it happen with more grace and ease.  Going into movement meditation for this point might open up visions or awarenesses of past lives or soul contracts or other new information which might serve your path.

Going out into the ‘real world’.

As open channels, we often go through times when we find it extremely challenging to go out into the real world.  This can be because we are receiving too much information in crowds of people.  While you might never enjoy a huge crowd again, you can learn how to navigate the reality of the world.  We are being called to master this so that we can go out in the world and be of service.  I remember going out to functions and being unable to handle so much energy and information.  I kept my hands down or in packets, hidden in arm warmers down below my hands because if I raised my hands they would start to work and seek people out, if someone touched me it often sent a jolt through my body and could easily send me into an altered state for a moment.  I struggled for years in not being able to go to workshops, Yoga classes or events because my channel was so easily opened.  If there was an event in which we were going to be asked to hold hands, forget about it.

If this is something that you are struggling with, start to set yourself up for greater success by asking for help with whatever is happening for you.

I am not working tonight.  I do not wish to receive messages or to do healing work tonight.  I am off duty.  I am using this time to socialize and have fun.  If you have a very important message, please let me know and I will let you know if I am available to receive it.

You can also use these gifts to your advantage.

I am going into this event.  I am using this as a networking opportunity to meet people that are supposed to work with me.  Allow that those that need my medicine cross my path and please help me to bring through the right words to make the connection.

You can get as specific as you want here.

The individuated mediumistic work that you are called to do will inform the type of visitations you will have.  Those that are of service by helping disembodied souls to transition to the light can be more effected by this than others as these soul forms are not of the highest consciousness and so do not align with the free-will of the planet and are more likely to just show up at all hours requesting help or wanting to deliver a message.  Again, reinstate your sovereign identity, state when you are working and when you are not.  If someone comes into your bedroom at night you have every right to tell them to go away and come again tomorrow when you are in meditation and you will speak with them then.

Up regulation.

Are you vibrating at a frequency that will serve you as a channel?

We are often looking at our programs, workshops, offerings, and sessions as the means by which we do our healing work and offer our gifts.  The truth is that most of our work is through occupying a higher vibration and that through the law of resonance, others, just be being in proximity to us can have radical shifts in their vibration. We are helping to shift people’s frequency. This is often in our work, but can happen in any situation.

Realizing this, we can take on a sense of responsibility for our own vibration. This means taking care of your physical, etheric, emotional, spiritual and mental bodies.  Once again, self-care is the name of the game and sleep, movement, play, nutrition, being in nature, positive actions and thoughts, forgiveness, and being conscious of what you are exposing yourself to on a daily basis is vital.  This does not mean that you are never allowed to be sad, angry or have a bad day.  Quite the opposite, all of the emotions must be held space for, the shadow embraced and danced with and natural grieving processes honored.

What we are seeking is a feeling that even in the midst of challenges and the realities of life we are making choices which are in service to the raising of our vibration not the dampening of it.

This often requires once again doing research and seeking experts and mentors to guide us through supplementation, nutrition and practices.

We can also ask for help in this area as well.  Going into meditation, let yourself sit with a particular issue, or of the generalized need to raise your vibration.  Connect and ask your guides  for information on vitamins, practitioners and practices.  You might not get an answer right away.  That is OK.  Simply ask that the things that you need to bring you into balance and vitality be brought into your awareness.  You might then find that you meet an amazing acupuncturist at a party, a book about a way of eating falls off of the shelf when you are in a book store or you receive an email with an offer for studying a practice which will change your life.  You might want to learn how to self muscle test or work with a pendulum if you still feel unsure of the right things to do.

The other benefit of raising our vibration is that we can then start to access higher levels of information.  You might start receiving information from a new guide who wasn’t able to communicate with you before.  It is often the case that we have initial guides who are bringing us through the process of opening our channel and once we reach a certain point we will graduate to another guide who will be bringing in more information or healing.  It is also the case that after a certain point your guides will be able to bring through more advanced information and healing work.  This is because you have been raising your vibration to be able to access and hold these higher levels of consciousness.

Tracking yourself as the channel takes a strong sense of dedication to self and to mission.

When you are asking for help to regulate your system in either direction, to receive upgrades or new awarenesses, always link your requests to your soul mission and purpose.

I desire new upgrades to my vibration, in an easeful way that I can handle, so that I can be of greater service to the world and bring my healing gifts to more people assisting in the evolution of consciousness on the planet.  Thank you.

The Real Reasons Your Coaching, Healing, Therapeutic Practice is Stagnant

Many coaches and healers start out with their practice and slowly see an increase of business.  Their programs start to fill, they deliver the programs, things seem like they are going good.  They might even completely rock it with a full roster of clients and an incredible income in no time.   And, then it feels like things so sideways.  People start pulling out of programs, they have trouble paying, they forget to come to their sessions or seem to be avoiding booking.  New leads are drying up and it seems like more work than ever.  What worked before suddenly isn’t bringing in the same results.

Sometimes, these are just natural growing pains, passing moments of shifts in your business and unavoidable aspects of any healing business.  Sometimes they are signals to shift your focus and become more authentic in your offerings.

But, when we are doing soul guided works, we are being guided and protected by those that assist in these endeavors.  Our guardians will not let us take on more than we can handle.  If they do, it is part of a lesson they are helping to teach in discernment and boundaries.

If our energy is not running properly, we are not sourced and fully in alignment we will not be able to handle many people’s energy.

Taking on a caseload that you can’t handle can burn you out and leave you completely drained.

It does not matter if you are doing deep Shamanic one on one in person work or doing a group coaching business program with little individual touch, working with people requires a certain element of energetic mastery to hold your field, deflect what needs to deflected and to work with other’s energy in a way that is sustainable and easy.

Adding in elements of channeling, working with spirits or galactic energies in sessions and you can be depleted by the quick shift in frequencies or the intensity of the activations.

I have seen so many clients who with a small adjustment in how they were processing other’s energy were then able to take on more clients and the clients just started coming in.  Programs started to be channeled into existence and things just got easier.  They began doing deeper, more profound work and it wasn’t draining them any more.

I have learned this the hard way.  I have depleted myself and I have hit major roadblocks that I thought were due to marketing but were really due to my own energetics.

I work with a lot of intuitive and psychics.  So, when I am not on my game, they literally reach out to say, “I don’t think that we are supposed to be having a session today? Is that true?”

Yes, it is true.

We have been taught in our culture that we must always show up no matter what but doing healing, and spiritual works when we are not sourced, protected and grounded will deplete us and this is a danger to our systems making us vulnerable to all sorts of issues from taxed adrenals resulting in exhaustion to psychic attacks and entity attachments which can threaten our wellbeing and even our lives.

From my experience, there are a lot of schools out there, programs teaching modalities, methodologies of working on people,as well as, therapeutic and coaching processes.  Yet, few of these trainings give much instruction on how to protect yourself from taking on your client’s energy.  Rarely included are the processes one goes by to ensure a successful healing or coaching session so that the proper energies are invoked, the space is safe, the practitioner is protected and the work is done in a greater state of ease.

I have met a lot of advanced practitioners with years of experience doing deep work who are not in good health and vitality. They suffer from all sorts of energetic and physical issues.  This seems surprising because we expect those with a certain skill level to somehow have it all together and this is not actually the case all of the time.  Having a special skill does not mean that you do not have to deal with all of the life-long issues, traumas, belief systems that can create serious issues.

People enter the healing and coaching professions from the altruistic desire to help, to be of service, to create the conditions for people to heal and become whole, happy and productive doing what they love.  Often a core desire to help and be of service has been a lifelong pattern which started in the home where the highly sensitive child used her gifts of processing energy and emotions to stabilize the family unit.  These infantile ways of processing energy become a life-long pattern which is utilized usually with little awareness in sessions, group programs and speaking engagements.  When you are processing energy ineffectively you can cause major blockages, holdings and diseases in the body.  This can show up as chronic sore throats or digestive issues, heart pain or palpitations, burning in the diaphragm, weight gain and even escalate into tumors or organ issues over time.

Nothing will sideline your business and send you into a healing quest faster than a physical ailment which causes you to pull all of your attention off of your clients and business and onto yourself.

We don’t have time for this.  Nor do we want to sabotage our practices and our lives by needing to take a sabbatical right when things are cooking to figure out how we could have gotten to this place.  It is humbling to have to heal in the middle of a big career push, especially as someone who advises and works on others.

So, how do we avoid these pitfalls?  How do we keep ourselves from over-giving, from literally draining our power to give our clients access to theirs?  How do we remain sustainable in our practice so that we can serve a lot of people, do deep work, create the financial success that we desire while still feeling powerful, sourced and full of life-force?

How do we serve the world without sacrificing ourselves?

For some of us, sitting with this question is the first step.  Often in our excitement to be of service we forget to check in as to how it is effecting us.  We assume that we can go and go and we will be just fine.

1. Look at your energy and physical body.

How is my energy on a daily basis?

Where am I sacrificing myself to do this work?

Where is it showing up in my body?  This is so important because we often don’t even acknowledge the issues we are having in the body until they hit a crisis point.

Am I getting enough sleep, time in nature, sun and play?

Am I supporting myself with nurturing, remineralizing foods?

2. Look at your practice.

What does my daily practice look like?

Maybe we have a steady meditation practice or we get to Yoga a few times a week.  This just isn’t enough actually.  Specific practices to assist in cleansing, purification, protection and energy cultivation must be utilized.

What are the practices that I am doing before and after sessions look like?

What energies and guides am I connecting to that support the work that I am called to do?

How am I processing energy and emotions in sessions and am I doing it in the most efficient, sustainable way possible?

Am I steadily upping my self-care game so that I am able to handle the influxes of energies to come or am I letting myself be complacent with what used to work?

Do I give myself permission to take time off for rest on a regular basis?

Am I clearing the energy of my clients out of my system on a regular basis?

3. Look at your business.

Am I doing deeper work and holding greater space so I need to place more time between clients or take more time off in general?

Am I really charging enough for the work that I am doing?

Is there a way to add less energetically intensive options to my programs and offerings?

Am I simply working too hard sometimes and trying to push or muscle through my work?

Am I being really honest with myself and others about the work that I am doing, giving them an opportunity to see the value and pay more for the work so that I don’t have to take on so many sessions?

Is the marketing that I am doing honest to the work that wants to come through me?

Am I actually being called in a different direction or to complete an important project such as a book that is wanting to come through me?

Is the work that I am doing, the people that I am serving the highest expression of the gifts that re flowing through me?

We are advancing at a rapid pace.  Our practices, our awarenesses and our business must all be in fierce alignment with the emerging energies that we are bringing in or we run the risk of burnout and systems failure in our work.  By remaining present to the needs of our body and our soul during these times we can truly be of massive service to people and planet.  We don’t have time to spend pulling ourselves up from a set back.  There are simple tools and practices that can assist in being able to handle more clients and sessions but we have to start with our own self assessment and then implement the changes, take on the new practices that will support the work we are being called into.

Rocked to The Core of the Earth: Empaths and The Natural Disasters of Our Times

Rains are falling in Texas, the land of my birth and first 18 years.  Flood waters rise and submerge the area that I lived in to complete High School near Houston.  I am sitting in my living room crying.

I have no family there.  No real connections or friends and I haven’t been back in over 20 years.

Is what I am feeling connected with this disaster?  Is it because I have a connection to the land or because I am feeling what these people are feeling, their fear and sadness?

Empaths are known for feeling everything.

For most of our lives we are called overly sensitive, emotional or even unbalanced.  We often have trouble understanding why when we walk into a room, or sit next to a particular person we start to feel sad or overwhelmed by the situation.

What situation?  There doesn’t seem to be a situation.  Hm, but it feels like a situation.  Must be me.

Until recently it was not acknowledged that there are a certain subset of the population that feel other people’s feelings, often as their own, have a hard time sorting their feelings from others, get overwhelmed easily in social situations and often have a calling to help others.  This calling can lead them to feel depleted as they seem to suck up negative emotions leaving the other person feeling amazing and the empath feeling like they have just been run over by a truck.

Many empaths have been or are currently medicated and pathologized by the medical establishment.

There are many natural empaths and it is also something that is trained into the system by being raised in an abusive or unstable environment.  Learning to feel and track other’s feeling is a survival strategy.

Take this innate and often cultivated strategy out into the world and you can spend a lot of time crying for no reason or wondering why everyone is pretending to be happy when you know otherwise.

An untrained empath can be in a world of hurt and not even understand why.

A trained empath can be a powerful healer, coach, lover and friend navigating the world in a way that is both of service and is sustainable.

But, in times of community or global crisis empaths can feel more overwhelmed than usual.  This can be even more confusing because the overwhelming emotions and energy seem to be coming from nowhere. There are no people around triggering these feelings so it is assumed they are internally derived

We are in a time of profound transformation.  Societal conflicts and natural disasters are happening frequently.  Celestial occurrences such as solar flares and eclipses seem to be happening one after the other.

We are all connected.  We are also all connected to the Earth which is a living being undergoing changes at a rapid pace.

We are feeling not only the shaking of the Earth, the blowing winds and rising waters we are feeling the collective emotions of all those effected by the situations.

During the recent floods many report an overwhelming need to cry buckets of tears.  When we search for the reason behind the tears there seems to be none.

Those near the raging forest fires also feel sadness, but are also expressing a sense of anger, frustration and even rage.

We are expressing the imbalances as mirrors of the Earth.  She is weeping and so are we.  She is raging in consuming fire and so are we.  We need to be connected to the mother.  She is the source of much of our energy and power.  She brings us a grounded, supported feeling, but when she is in turbulence we are often reflecting the same.

We are feeling the feelings of the people in these areas who have lost everything.

That might not make sense to a lot of people.  It might be questioned that anyone could feel emotions over thousands of miles.  Yet, if you have ever received or given energy work over a distance you realize quickly that energy moves over distance.  As one of my favorite Chi Gong teachers says, “Emotions are just energy in motion.”

For the empath and other highly sensitive people, energy is most often translated, felt and expressed as emotion.  It is why we might seem a little… unstable at times.

So, what can an empath do during natural disasters and unstable social climates?

  1. Check in.  Stop when you feel the upswell of emotions.  Take some deep breaths, calm your body by sitting or laying down and check in if this feels like your emotion or energy of not. You can start a dialog with your body, your higher self or your guides, “Is this mine or coming from outside of me?”  Allow yourself to scan your body, bringing as much of your awareness inside as possible.  Just notice the sensations without giving them too much meaning.  My heart is beating fast does not have to mean, I have anxiety.  It can just mean that my heart is beating fast.  I feel sadness in my chest does not have to mean, I am sad.  Allow yourself to witness the experience without judgement bringing calming breath to any area that draws your attention.
  2. Ground.  We can be knocked off of our center by these events.  We might even be choosing to disconnect from the Earth for fear that what we feel will overwhelm us.  But, it is still important to be centered and grounded.  Walk outside with your shoes off if possible.  Find a tree and hold onto it.  Breathe into your feet and toes.  Send your breath down into the Earth and then watch it come back up and rest in your relaxed belly.  Hit your heels on the ground a few times.
  3. Move.  Sometimes the best way to move energy is to… move energy.  Go for a run, take a swim, lift some weights or dance it out.  Stagnation will only keep the feelings stuck inside building in intensity.  One of the best practices you can do is to shake.  Shake your whole body adding in some sound and send all of the emotions and energy out of your body and into the Earth.
  4. Let it out.  You are not crazy for needing to bawl like a baby for a while.  Allow yourself to turn it up and wail, moan and scream. No one is probably paying any attention to you any way (really).  Do it in your car or the shower, or turn the music up if you are concerned that someone will think you mad.  For many of us, we are the expressers of the unexpressed.  This is not the easiest job to have on the planet but it is important.  Let it out.  Thank you for your service as this is a way that this overwhelming energy is being processed and it helps everyone.
  5. Nurture yourself.  Take long baths with candles and your favorite calming essential oils.  Eat lots of root vegetables and if you eat meat start making a bone broth.  Take time to just be quiet, off of your devices and media.  It can be exhausting to do this work.  Give yourself permission to take a nap, go to bed early or sleep in late.
  6. Seek help. Meditation, energy practices, going to see an energy healer can all assist greatly at these times.  Open up to those you feel really safe with, find a teacher, mentor or healer that you resonate with and let yourself receive some help.
  7. Love your nature.  You are amazing.  You are vital.  You are a contribution to this planet and you have the power to heal.  This is not a curse.  Stop using this to let yourself play the victim.  This is a super power, but it takes some time and knowledge to learn how to handle it effectively.

I work with healers, coaches, empaths and all those that are here to help with the expansion of consciousness on this planet.  I teach practices to support awakening, opening the channel and handling the emotional, spiritual and physical burden of working with clients and living in this world.

What Does Channeling Do To You?

A lot of people think that channeling is interesting or neat and they want to learn how to do it.  Really anyone can channel, but it takes a committed person to deal with the stuff that often happens when you turn on this gift.

Greater care has to be taken to keep the body nurtured and running properly.  Running these types of energies can be extremely depleting and they shift the balances of the body greatly.

Self-awareness, commitment to authenticity and discernment all must be upgraded.

Practices for clearing, protection and integration can not be missed.

Some are called to channel beings that are so far form their original vibration that the upgrades are exhausting and time consuming.

Anything in your life that is not in alignment with these higher frequencies will have to be dealt with and it might even look like your whole world is blowing up.

You will be called to trust and surrender in ways that you have never before.

It’s no joke.

I have been fascinated by these processes for years.  Seeking to understand how we do these things and how we do them safely and sustainably.  The more people that I work with I realize that the super fast path that all of us want and many of us are on can be so destabilizing that without the proper processes and practices we can actually set ourselves back.

Often what got you to this point just doesn’t seem to help as much anymore.

When you see a channel doing their work it often seems effortless.  But, you rarely see or know about the path that it took to get there or what they have had to do to stabilize and support these processes so that they appear so effortless.

Just like seeing a master musician or artist we we see the same effortlessness, not often the years of hours upon hours of work.  I am sure there are a lot of prodigies in these works as in others, some people bring through only their higher self or beings that are easier on the system than others.

Sometimes the energies that we pull through make us feel so good that we mistakingly think that this is no big deal on this human body until we burn out the system.

I believe that a proper foundation is important and the information and awareness around what working with these realms can bring is vital.

I just don’t see anyone talking abut this, yet when people reach out to me who are struggling with integrating these energies even after years of spiritual or healing work I have to wonder, are we really being honest with each other and with ourselves as to what these awakenings and activations look like and do to us or are we all so interested in looking perfect and like we have just always had our shit together that we are giving each other the false impression that this is just no big deal?

I help people open and integrate their channel in a healthy way and then bring this new or previously hidden work to the world.  If you are interested, reach out.

Please Forgive Me, I Forgive Myself, I Am Forgiven

PLEASE FORGIVE ME

I FORGIVE MYSELF

I AM FORGIVEN

Recently, in medicine ceremony this process unfolded through me and I was afforded deep, profound healing and awareness of a painful issue which has plagued me throughout my life.

We all know forgiveness is important to healing. The core of healing is often forgiveness.  We hear a lot about forgiving others:  our past partners, friends, parents and other family members.

The deepest forgiveness work is forgiving ourselves.

PAST LIFE FORGIVENESS

Many of us have done great damage in our lifetimes  (maybe this one).  Let’s face it, if you believe in multiple lifetimes, you have to wonder where did all of those murderers, rapists, abusers, torturous prison guards, SS officers, etc etc etc end up in the next life?  If we hold that our soul is on a path of learning and discovery, we will acknowledge that some of those lifetimes we have lived (or are living concurrently as to the nature of time).  Many are walking through life in pain and disease from past life actions.

Deep Karmic healing requires our intense presence in the deepest wounds from these lifetimes.  In these lifetimes, we often allowed, called in and cultivated relationships with low frequency spirits that infiltrate our being with further pain, illness and trauma.  To root it out takes a willingness to face healing, often experienced as illness and pain full on with a compassionate heart.   We are called to go through the process of asking, then receiving our own forgiveness and to allow light to enter the places where we were not allowing it before due to our shame and subconscious self-hatred.

Without forgiving ourselves, we continue to hold hatred, shame and low frequencies in the body and being.

There is no space for transformation without forgiveness.

Forgiveness for others is an incomplete process.

Please Forgive Me.  We often search desperately for someone to forgive us.  The light, God… We feel crushed under the burden, with the realization of our own horrors.  I have seen myself do terrible things and I have felt their implications in my life now.  This forgiveness feels external.  It has to be given the great weight and the detachment that we have from the issue.  But, we have to find this place where we completely surrender to asking for help and forgiveness.  Even if we are not exactly sure what we are asking for, we are tuning into a deeper knowing that realizes it is something that must be worked on.

I Forgive Myself.  This one is such a challenge.  We hit against all of the reasons that we don’t deserve forgiveness, why we can’t forgive ourselves and the contracts we have made associated with the things we have done.  We must ask for help in removing these contracts from our energetic and soul signatures.

I Am Forgiven.  This is a place of deep rest and release.  We realize that we are already forgiven.  We have an unlimited amount of grace flowing toward us.  We always get another chance, a new start, but we have to ask for it and cultivate it in action.

Many of us in medicine work, healing sessions, relationships, and through other modalities are going through this process.  Sometimes it is very conscious, other times it is subtly under the surface.

When cultivated as a practice:

Forgive me, I forgive myself, I am forgiven.

We can open up to new possible futures without the weight of past negative actions on our soul, creating illness and pain in our bodies and following us everywhere attracting low frequency beings, people and situations.
